Verantel and MyCase
MyCase is practice-management software for law firms, made by 8am. It keeps a firm's cases, clients, documents, and billing in one place. Verantel is an AI intake interviewer. A prospective client tells their story in a web chat, and Verantel asks one question at a time until it has what your firm needs. The Verantel MyCase integration puts each new intake in front of your attorneys in MyCase.
How Verantel works with MyCase
Verantel runs the interview with the prospective client. When the interview ends, Verantel writes a record of the matter. Verantel then sends the new case, with its Verantel record, into MyCase. The prospective client arrives as a MyCase client on the case.
Your firm connects its MyCase account from the Verantel dashboard. After that, each finished interview reaches MyCase with no work from your staff.
What your attorneys see in MyCase
Your attorneys open MyCase and find the new case with its Verantel record. The record covers:
- the short summary
- the deadlines
- the facts, grouped by topic, each linked to the client's own words
- each legal matter, with its practice area and state
- the people and organizations involved
- how well the matter fits your firm
- what an attorney would gather next
- the full transcript
An attorney who doubts a fact follows its link and reads what the client said. Verantel is not a lawyer and gives no legal advice. Your attorneys decide what the facts mean and whether to take the matter.
From there, your team works the case in MyCase as it works any other. The record sits with the case from the start.
About MyCase
MyCase calls itself "legal practice management, all in one place." It says more than 19,000 law firms choose MyCase. Its site names practice areas such as criminal defense, family law, immigration, bankruptcy, personal injury, and trusts and estates.
MyCase lists these main features:
- client intake forms and lead management, with a pipeline view of prospective clients
- a client portal and two-way texting
- calendaring with reminders
- document management with templates
- the 8am IQ Case Assistant, an AI tool for case work
- time and expense tracking, billing, and invoicing
- payments through 8am LawPay
MyCase publishes three plans. Basic costs $50 per user per month, Pro $100, and Advanced $130, each billed annually. Monthly billing costs $60, $120, and $150. MyCase lists client intake forms and its legal CRM with Pro.
AffiniPay, the company behind LawPay, bought MyCase in 2022. In August 2025, AffiniPay renamed itself 8am, and MyCase became 8am MyCase. The company said the rebrand was not a sale or merger, and that MyCase's features and pricing did not change. On September 23, 2026, 8am announced MyCase MCP, which it calls the first official Claude MCP connector built specifically for legal practice management.
Where the data lives
Verantel keeps each firm's interviews in a database of the firm's own, on Verantel's server or the firm's own. The case and its record travel to MyCase, which keeps them under your firm's account there. Verantel stores nothing on the way.
