Verantel and Clio Manage
Clio Manage is Clio's practice management software for law firms. It holds a firm's matters and contacts, with the activities, bills, documents, calendar entries, and tasks tied to each matter. Verantel is an AI intake interviewer. A prospective client tells their story in a web chat, and Verantel asks one question at a time until it has what your firm needs. The Verantel Clio Manage integration puts each new intake in front of your attorneys in Clio Manage.
How Verantel works with Clio Manage
Verantel runs the interview with the prospective client. When the interview ends, Verantel writes a record of the matter. Verantel then sends the new matter, with its Verantel record, into Clio Manage. The prospective client arrives as a Clio Manage contact on the matter.
Your firm connects its Clio Manage account from the Verantel dashboard. After that, each finished interview reaches Clio Manage with no work from your staff.
What your attorneys see in Clio Manage
Your attorneys open Clio Manage and find the new matter with its Verantel record. The record covers:
- the short summary
- the deadlines
- the facts, grouped by topic, each linked to the client's own words
- each legal matter, with its practice area and state
- the people and organizations involved
- how well the matter fits your firm
- what an attorney would gather next
- the full transcript
An attorney who doubts a fact follows its link and reads what the client said. Verantel is not a lawyer and gives no legal advice. Your attorneys decide what the facts mean and whether to take the matter.
From there, your team works the matter in Clio Manage as it works any other. The record sits with the matter from the start.
About Clio Manage
Clio makes Clio Manage. Clio is a legal technology company headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia. Clio has called Clio Manage cloud-based legal practice management software.
Clio Manage works beside Clio's other products. Clio Grow handles intake and client relationships. Once a lead is won, the resulting matter carries over from Clio Grow into Clio Manage. Clio Work handles AI legal work.
In November 2025, Clio completed its $1 billion acquisition of vLex, a legal research platform that includes the Vincent AI assistant.
At ClioCon in October 2026, Clio announced one interface for Clio Grow, Clio Manage, and Clio Work, with rollout starting in November. Clio also announced Clio Phones, a business phone system built into Clio, and Documents Pro, a document management system built into Clio. The new interface adds a unified inbox that files email and text messages to the right matter or contact.
Where the data lives
Verantel keeps each firm's interviews in a database of the firm's own, on Verantel's server or the firm's own. The matter and its record travel to Clio Manage, which keeps them under your firm's account there. Verantel stores nothing on the way.
